Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: May 12, 2026

The Card Log is a participant in affiliate advertising programs designed to provide a means for sites to earn referral fees by recommending products and services.

In plain English: when you click certain links on this site and apply for a credit card, sign up for a service, or buy a product, I may receive a commission from the company at no additional cost to you.

How this affects what I write

I take the trust of every reader seriously, and I want to be upfront about how this works.

What affiliate compensation does not do here:

It does not change which cards or products I recommend. My recommendations are based on what I genuinely believe is the best fit for the situation I’m writing about — not on which company pays the highest commission.

It does not change the terms of any offer. The welcome bonus, annual fee, rewards rate, and benefits you see on my site are the same terms you’d get going directly to the issuer. Clicking my link does not change your application, approval odds, or card terms.

It does not give me any insider information about your application. I don’t see your application, your credit score, or whether you’re approved.

What affiliate compensation does do:

It keeps the site free for readers. Without affiliate revenue, sites like this either charge for content or fill every page with display ads.

It allows me to spend significant time researching, applying for, and using the cards I write about — so the content reflects real experience rather than copy-pasted marketing claims.

Which programs participate

This site may participate in affiliate programs including but not limited to:

Credit card affiliate networks (such as Bankrate, CardRatings, and similar)
Direct issuer affiliate programs
Amazon Associates Program
Travel-related affiliate programs (booking sites, points transfer services, travel gear retailers)
Financial product affiliate programs (banking, brokerage, budgeting tools)
Other relevant affiliate networks where the offer is genuinely relevant to readers

Not every link on this site is an affiliate link. When a link is an affiliate link, it is treated the same as any other link in the content — embedded naturally rather than flagged with stars or icons. By visiting this site and clicking through links, you acknowledge that I may earn commissions from some of those clicks.

FTC compliance

This disclosure is intended to satisfy the requirements of the Federal Trade Commission regarding endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255), including the FTC’s guidance on affiliate disclosure.

If you have any questions about how affiliate relationships work on this site, or you’d like to know whether a specific link is an affiliate link, please get in touch at [[email protected]].
